Who? Kara and Dustin
When? April 18-19, 2025
Where? Little Rock, AR

First Stop: Dinner at “The Panty – West” in West Little Rock, AR. It was AMAZING. Chez and German food. YUM. Dustin had a special that was Lamb meatloaf with side. He said it was great! I wanted something light to eat, so I had the Arugula Pear salad. I switched out the blue cheese for goat cheese, and added the Chicken Breast. It was simply devine.

The next morning we decided to go grab brunch.

“At the Corner” for brunch was great. We set outside, and it threatened to rain while we were eating, but held off. This is PERFECT weather for me, because I sunburn so easy! The people watching was amazing from that view in downtown Little Rock. Must try the fried potatoes. That was my favorite. The cheese grits were great, too. I almost finished my plate, and Dustin did finish his (Shrimp and Grits)!

Then we went to go to the Clinton Library. I have a lot of respect for the Clintons (I know some do not.) I went and watched Hillary speak at Crystal Bridges when she came to town, and found her quite fascinating.

As someone who attended the 2nd Clinton inauguration, I found this museum very interesting. There was A LOT of reading. These pins were all over the inauguration, and quickly brought back memories from my trip with my dad. (My dad passed away in 2001. That trip to Washington DC was very special to me.)
Fun fact: If Dustin goes with you, you get the entire history lesson. (He used to be a high school history teacher.) At one point Dustin goes, “Most people don’t realize that the federal government shut down while Clinton was President.” I laughed and told him I learned that on the TV special about Monica Lewinsky. That was when they met according to that ‘documentary’. We also discussed tariffs, and the vaccines America sent to Africa, and why. I particularly liked the part on the economy. It reminded me of talks I had with my dad when I was younger.
There was also a globe exhibit outside that was interesting that represented different things.

On our way back to Dustin’s house, we had to go through Bald Knob. That was just entirely too close to Newport, AR (where I grew up), to not stop and grab some strawberries! They had just started picking them on that Thursday (this was Saturday!) So they were super fresh, and I have already eaten way too many of them!

‘Til next time… who knows where we will end up next?!
